CHELTENHAM RUGBY CLUB ‘RUGBY CLUB OF THE YEAR 2015’

A magnificent year and one to be proud of for Cheltenham Rugby Club!

Highlights include:

• Rugby World Cup team base for Argentina, Tonga and Japan
The only Club in the UK to have the honour of hosting three world cup teams.
• Constructing a new full size rugby pitch, known as the ‘RWC Legacy Field’ and dedicated to the 14 former players ‘fallen heroes’ of WW1 and WW2.
• Obtained funding to construct a Multi Use Play Area (MUGA), which will allow the Club to introduce four new sports for the benefit of the Community.
• Instrumental in the raising of funds totalling £25,000 for use by Riding for the Disabled and Wooden Spoon, the rugby charity for disabled players.

With 84,000 sports and social clubs eligible to enter, ranging from golf clubs to bowls clubs and rugby clubs, Cheltenham Rugby Club had a lot of competition!  Awarded the following:

• Winner ‘Rugby Club of the Year’
• Finalist - Best Business initiative of the Year
• Finalist -  Marketing Club of the year

Rugby Union Writers’ Awards 2015
Special Award given to the Club in recognition for its work in promoting rugby in the Community.

Superb social and business facilities are available for hire at  Newlands Park, including the award winning 1905 All Black’s Suite.

The Lawn @ Newlands, is ideal for Charity and Community Fun Days, with space for stalls, sideshows and amusements, with BBQ’s always available.
