HARRISON CLARK RICKERBYS RECOGNISED BY MOD FOR FORCES SUPPORT

Three Counties law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys has won a prestigious award for its support for the armed forces as part of the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme.

The firm won a silver award under the scheme, which makes bronze, silver and gold awards in acknowledgement of employers who pledge, advocate and demonstrate support to defence and the armed forces community and who encourage others to do the same.

Partner Richard Morgan, who heads the defence, security and the forces team and Rebecca Kirk, employment lawyer and key team member, accepted the award at a ceremony and dinner at RAF Cosford.

Richard Morgan said: ““The work we undertake to support the serving military, veterans and their families is a way of recognising the vital way in which they serve and protect all of us. We view it as the least we can do to repay our debt to this community, and we are honoured that our work has been recognised in this way. Hopefully it will assist us to encourage others in the business and professional sector to support the military community in similar ways.”

Rebecca Kirk said: “I am extremely proud to work for a firm that recognises the contribution that members of the armed forces community make to our country, our communities and our businesses. We take our commitment under the Corporate Covenant very seriously and it is a privilege to support our serving military personnel, their families and veterans.”

Harrison Clark Rickerbys signed the Corporate Covenant in November 2014; the covenant means that the firm is committed to supporting the armed forces community by recognising the value that serving personnel, veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.

The firm’s work within the defence sector includes advising former military personnel who now run their own companies supplying defence and security related goods and services nationally and internationally, as well as advising serving and former members of the military and their families on private matters. It also provides resettlement training and welfare services and administers the Herefordshire Security and Defence Group.

Harrison Clark Rickerbys has 380 staff and partners based at offices in the Wye Valley, Hereford, Worcester, Cheltenham, Birmingham and the Thames Valley, who provide a complete spectrum of legal services to both business and private clients, regionally and nationwide.  The firm also has a number of highly successful teams specialising in individual market sectors, including health and social care, education, agricultural and rural affairs, hospitality and leisure, defence, security and the forces, and construction.
