CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL OF PERFORMING ARTS IS CELEBRATING ITS 90TH ANNIVERSARY
Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce members in 1925 were responsible for the founding of the two day competition that has evolved over the years into the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts and 2015 marks the 90th anniversary of its existence with a 13 day event.
Not only did the Chamber come up with the idea and make it happen, it supported the continued growth and success of the Festival both by active participation on the organising committee and by sponsorship. The Chamber also presented a very handsome cup to the Festival for the Adult Choir Class.
This year, the ninetieth is obviously particularly special and the CFPA is putting together a limited edition Souvenir Programme and hosting a 90th birthday lunch at the Masonic Hall, Portland Street on 23rd April 2016.
The Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce is supporting by sponsoring the class in the adult choral section for which we award the cup and taking out a full page advertisement in the Souvenir Programme. It is open to members to do the same if they would like to, at a very modest charge.
The deadline for any copy is 11th March. For more information go to: www.cfpa.org.uk.
