What’s it about?

A unique and important asset for the county, Gloucestershire Airport is one of Britain’s busiest general aviation airports with a robust charter business and is a major centre for fixed wing and helicopter pilot training, both commercial and private, and recreational flying. It is also home to a diverse range of aviation and non-aviation related businesses from maintenance to manufacturing.

Providing connectivity to and from national and international destinations Gloucestershire Airport presents itself as a ‘gateway for growth’ for the many significant developments coming forward across the region including The Golden Valley Development which aims to cement the reputation of the UK as a world leader in cyber security.

On Thursday 13th May at 2.30pm, Karen Taylor, recently appointed Managing Director, will talk to the Chamber via zoom about the airport’s long-term vision for growth as a sustainable business and the programme of activity it is embarking on to create around 1,520 new jobs and enable airport improvements including:

About Karen Taylor

Karen has been the Commercial Finance Director at Gloucestershire Airport for over two years and took over the role of interim Managing Director in October 2020.

Prior to her role at the airport, she built experience working for organisations from across the not-for-profit, public and private sectors including financial services, housing management, and care. In her time as Commercial Finance Director Karen has been instrumental in implementing plans to ensure the long-term sustainability of the airport.
