Cotswold RDA
Description
At Cotswold Riding for the Disabled, it’s what you CAN do that counts. As one of the largest RDA centres in the UK, we offer riding lessons to over 150 riders per week, supported by our team of over 180 volunteers and herd of 14 very special ponies. We operate from the grounds of Cheltenham Racecourse, with our arena centre located just past the steam train site. Our riding weekly riding schedule runs from Monday to Saturday, with our additional after-school lessons taking place three nights a week. Our Mechanical Horse “Sedbury Shadow” also provides riding lessons throughout the week, allowing us to expand our client base further. We also offer non-mounted equine activities to children and adults living with a disability. These include our Pony One-to-One session, ASDAN accredited qualifications in Horse Care, and the now-nationwide RDA activity “Tea with a Pony”.

We could not run without our incredible team of over 180 volunteers, who support the lessons by leading the ponies and walking either side of the rider. Our coaching team is made up of volunteer coaches, from different backgrounds of the equine world, and all dedicated to providing not only learning and development, but of course plenty of fun!
