Will a skills gap undermine our recovery? Please take this short survey.

The pandemic has had massive impact on many sectors of the economy. Sadly, post furlough, many will find themselves without a job.

However, it has accelerated some trends that were present before, most notably in the digital transformation of business.

As a result, there is an ever-widening skills gap. A study by the Work and Learning Institute earlier this year found that 76% of employers felt a shortage of digital skills would hit their profitability.

The development of a flexible, skilled workforce is fundamental to a sound recovery and the long-term prosperity of our town and county.
