On Sunday 10th May, the Rotary Clubs of Winchcombe and Cleeve Vale will once again host the ‘Classics at Prescott’ event at the iconic Hill Climb track, which is also the home of the Bugatti Owners’ Club. Now in its 17th year at this beautiful Cotswold track, the event has helped raise in excess of £250k for a wide variety of local, national and international charities.
The gates will open at 9am and from 10am the 200 paddock entries will drive the famous hill twice – you’ll be able to view 6 Triumph Stags, a dozen Bucklers, 8 Lagondas (1927-34), a Hillman Husky and a Riley RME plus a Ferrari and a Lamborghini! The event is non-competitive, and in between drives the cars will be parked in the paddock where they can be viewed at close quarters.
There will also be a static display of classic cars in the Orchard throughout the day and at lunchtime a gentle cavalcade of these cars will ‘drive the hill’ so that everyone can see them in motion. Many spectators are motoring enthusiasts and drive their own prized classic cars to the event so even the car park is an interesting place to wander!
A souvenir programme will be handed out to each car driver and walk-in spectator. The entry fee for cars, irrespective of the number of passengers, is £15, walk-in spectators pay £5 per person. Reduced price early bird tickets are available online at classicsatprescott.com (click on ‘Apply to take part’ and save 20%). There is ample parking space on site and food will be available from several outlets.
On the previous Saturday 9th May, there is a picturesque around 70 mile Tour of the Cotswolds which is open to any Classic Car £20 Starting at the Bugatti Owners Club Check in 9.30am to 12.30pm. after booking online. classicsatprescott.com
