From the Ground Up
12th February 2022 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
The New Year is kicking off in a big environmental way with an event called From The Ground Up. It’s a one day sustainable festival to inform and encourage Cheltenham’s residents to explore and engage more about how they can make a difference in their home, business/work, life and community. It will take place at St Philip’s and St James’ Church, Grafton Road, Cheltenham, GL50 2DD on 12th February starting at 10:00 am.
Members of the public will be welcome to come along to view the exhibitions, meet experts and talk to representatives of local charities and organisations to learn what’s going on in town or to find out how you can live more sustainably and ask questions about climate change.
There will be a series of talks on a wide variety of environmental topics given by a number of personalities and experts running throughout the day. The groups present will include Clean Air Cheltenham, Vision 21, CK Futures, Master Composters and Planet Cheltenham.
Events like these help to focus public attention on issues concerning the big picture of Climate Change, but at the same time raise awareness about local issues such as the quality of the air we breathe when going around Cheltenham or when the next Repair Café will be taking place and where.
We suggest you book tickets in advance, here.
These events also add to the general groundswell of action and interest in tackling Global Warming. In Cheltenham we have our own initiative to counteract Climate Change called CheltenhamZero, which aims to create a Net Carbon Zero Cheltenham by 2030. Currently, businesses and community groups can become involved with the initiative, but if it is to be fully successful, it will ultimately involve everyone who works and lives in Cheltenham.
