June – Focus On Corporate Social Responsibility

1st June 2023 @ 8:00 am - 30th June 2023 @ 5:00 pm

For June, we are sharing information on three events that are happening within Cheltenham.  We are highlighting them to our Members as we’re focusing on our own Corporate Social Responsibilities this month and some of our own Executive Board Members will be supporting both.

The first event is Cheltenham Zero Net-walking:

The event is part of the Great Big Green Week which is being hosted by Cheltenham Zero. There is a net-walking event on Wednedsay 14th June in Pitville Park (meet at the Pump Rooms).  It’s the perfect way to meet people, clear your lungs and your mind and learn more about Cheltenham Zero if you’re not already a member.

The second event is Tidy Up Cheltenham:

As part of their annual Tidy Up Cheltenham campaign Cheltenham BID are seeking volunteers from town businesses.  On Saturday 17 June, the BID will collaborate with Cheltenham Civic Society to remove weeds, litter, stickers, and as much graffiti as possible for Civic Pride Day (https://cheltcivicsoc.org/events/civic-day/). The focus will be on Grosvenor Terrace and The Strand, from Sainsbury’s to the top of Cambray Place. Equipment will be provided, and all you have to do is show up, have fun, and know that you have improved the town’s appearance.

If you are interested, please contact the BID on info@cheltenhambid.co.uk.

The third event is NCLB Children’s Festival:

On Saturday 24th June No Child Left Behind will be hosting its 6th festival, this year with the theme of togetherness. If you’re not familiar with NCLB it’s a charity that focuses on the children within Cheltenham that aims to help all young people to thrive.  In 2018, Cheltenham partners commissioned a needs assessment that highlighted that there were around 4400 children and young people in our town living in poverty.

There are plenty of ways that businesses can either sponsor or support through volunteering and the Children’s Festival is one of them. For more information you can look at the website here: https://nclbcheltenham.org.uk/childrens-festival or alternatively contact Louis Wilson here: childrensfestival@cheltenham.gov.uk
