Mayor’s Charity Retro Pop Quiz

  • This event has passed.

Date of event: Saturday 22nd January

Start time: 19:00

In 2021/22, the Friends of Cheltenham Samaritans has been selected by Cheltenham Mayor, Councillor Steve Harvey, to be the nominated Mayor’s Charity during his year in office.  To mark this honour the Friends committee has persuaded veteran quiz master Leigh Norwood to come out of 20 years of quiz writing retirement and present a One-Off Pop Quiz to be held in the wonderful surroundings of Cheltenham Town Hall.  Leigh’s only proviso was that it would need to be a ‘Retro’ Pop Quiz, featuring music and artists from no later than 1999.  Why not pit your musical wits against the other teams and raise funds for your local charity too?

The Retro Pop Quiz will be held on Saturday 22nd January 2022 at Cheltenham Town Hall, starting promptly at 7.00pm.  The entry fee of £60 is for a team of up to six people.  There is a cash first prize of £300 for the winning team.

This event should appeal not only to those people and teams who enjoyed our quizzes back in the Eighties, Nineties and Noughties, but any other music and quiz fans who enjoy an evening of great entertainment whilst supporting a very worthy cause.

If you know a bit about music from the 50s through the 90s and would like to support a very deserving charity, then head over to the website below and book your tickets – who knows, your team could be the one to bag the £300 first prize!
