While vaccines have reduced the incidence of Poliomyelitis massively over the years, children can still get infected and its transmissibility is such that if introduced into a polio-free country it could spread very rapidly indeed. It is incurable – only preventable through vaccines – and frequently fatal.

Our Project, to raise money for the complete eradication of Polio in the World, is now well under way. Thousands of one-foot long Coin Strips have been printed and are now being distributed throughout the Cheltenham area. For example, at junior schools, children are encouraged to collect pound coins and attach them to the strips.

However, we want this project to involve our whole community – young people, families, clubs, associations and local businesses. Which is where you come in.

Put your ‘foot’ in and give polio the boot

 You don’t need to collect lots of pound coins. Simply go to our Just Giving page  and purchase any number of foot long `coin strips’ for £5.00 each.

Put the name of your business on the front so we can show everyone who has contributed to this cause. Imagine a donation of £100, giving you a 20 foot long display of your company’s contribution to this community effort!

And we will feature the names of contributing businesses in our publicity for the event.

If we can create a mile of coins, we shall have raised more than £25,000. That means about 100,000 oral vaccinations for children.
