How to Make the Most of Your Chamber Membership

Together, we’re stronger.

Our “family of businesses” is there to help you make connections with potential customers, partners and local organisations that can enhance or support your business. It is Cheltenham’s voice of business and a useful source of commercial intelligence and resources. It is also committed to the town’s “Zero” carbon commitment and to helping local businesses benefit from the huge commercial opportunities presented by the Golden Valley Cyber Park and A417 Missing Link developments.

Of course, the best way to make the most of your membership is to get involved. Scroll down for some ideas on how to do this.

Attend Our Events

This is the best way to network with other Members and Chamber Executives. We try to plan these well in advance and publish details on our website. Keep an eye on your inbox for invitations. If you don’t see them, please check your spam folder or let us know so we can ensure you’re kept up to date.

The Events range from business developments (featuring talks on key topics such as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR and the Carbon Zero initiative,  the Golden Valley / Cyber Park development) CSR and  developing skills to support the local economy, to fun social events at great venues across Cheltenham. We occasionally run online courses or post useful information and tips to help your business. Again, details will be on our website.

All the Chamber Executives give their time voluntarily to help promote the interests of Members’ businesses.  Click here to meet the team.

We would also love to hear from anyone who would like to help us develop or act as an Ambassador for the Chamber.

 

Use Your Website Dashboard

Our website is the best place to find out about events, you can also access services like our legal or tax helplines as well as local information links on our Resource Hub.

However, the key benefits are best accessed by logging in to your member dashboard (as can be seen on the left here). You will be able to log in using the username and password you set up when joining. (If you have any problems with this, please let us know: info@cheltenhamchamber.org.uk)

Let People Know You're a Member

Use Member Downloads to get a membership badge to add to your website or email signature. There are plenty of guides online to show you how, depending on your system.

Research shows that membership of a Chamber of Commerce can enhance your reputation. It also shows commitment to the town’s business economy.

We will add new resources to this link in due course.

Make Your Business More Visible

Use the Your business listing link in the dashboard to add your details to our directory so people can find out all about you. You can include pictures or a video. These listings often feature in Google or other search engines, so make sure you include your web address.

Our monthly newsletter reaches around two thousand local business subscribers. Our social media feeds many more. New members will be contacted by the editor to create a profile for the next edition. Other ways you can be featured are shown below.

Use Submit member news to upload your own content. Your white papers, news, articles, blogs, social media posts or exclusive Member Offers can appear in ‘member news’ on the homepage and may well be featured in the newsletter or social feeds. By all means send us press releases or newsletters. We will share these when we can but we will prioritise content you upload yourself.

(Please note the Newsletter deadline is 24th of the month. And please follow the guidelines in the link. We may ask you to edit posts that are just sales pitches!)

Submit an event lets you add your events to our event calendar, with links to more information and booking details.

Advertising and sponsorship. We offer a limited number of advertising opportunities or sponsored posts. The latter appear in the member news area and can feature in the newsletter. Please let us know if you are interested.

Booking a Meeting Room

This gives you access to free hotdesking and discounted meeting room facilities in the town centre at the Chamber offices. There are also links on the main website.

Full of the latest Chamber, Member and business news as well as profiles and thought leadership pieces, our monthly newsletter goes to thousands of local businesses. If you’re not getting it, you can sign up using the form at the bottom of this page.

Legal and Tax Helplines

As a Chamber member you can have up to one hour of free legal or financial advice. You can access this via the main menu in the top RH corner of the website homepage

Be Heard

When it comes to local issues, the Chamber is an influential voice of business. It has strong connections with our local MP, the Borough Council, GFirst LEP, the Cheltenham BID, Visit Cheltenham, Gloucestershire University, Gloucs College and many other key local bodies and Chambers. Whether it’s parking, new infrastructure, planning, local and regional policy or how hospital services will be delivered, use the Chamber to express your views.

Share Your Knowledge

If you have videos, courses or other information that is instructive or helpful, please let us know. We encourage members to share  knowledge whenever possible. Other members get help with their business, you get kudos for yours.

Become an Ambassador

If you are out and about across the Cheltenham area, meeting clients and other businesses and you believe in what we do, we would love to hear from you.

Benefits of becoming an ambassador include:
