New Year Update from Our CEO, Michael Ratcliffe MBE

Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive

Michael Ratcliffe MBE

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and their families a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Obviously, the year has not started as we had all hoped, but we are sure better times are not too far ahead. If nothing else, the last two years have shown us just how important it is for businesses to work together and support each other. As Cheltenham’s unique ‘family of businesses’ the Chamber is here to help you do just that.

We have planned some exciting events and initiatives for 2022 and we look forward to your involvement.

Our first event this year will be a major networking event over a delicious breakfast at The Ivy Restaurant, Montpellier. This will feature an update from Reid Derby, the Director of Strategy at CyNam and Strategic Advisor on Innovation at the Golden Valley Development. This project is probably the most important development the town’s businesses will see and this is your opportunity to hear more about it and ask Reid any questions you may have. The breakfast will take place on Wednesday 23rd February at 8am (see link below to book your place).

In addition to the Golden Valley/Cyber project, our focus this year will be to help businesses with their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) effort and work with local business and educational organisations to promote the development of relevant skills for the town. As part of the former, we will continue to support the Cheltenham Zero carbon initiative and partnerships between business and charitable organisations.

Currently, we are planning to work with our partners and members, to create a Chamber with useful resources to help you and your business develop and prosper in 2022. We will, of course, also continue to represent the voice of business in the town whenever it is needed. Please keep an eye on our website and your inbox for more on this in due course.

We hope to see a lot more of you in the coming year and we would encourage you to take advantage of all the Chamber has to offer. To remind you how to make the most of your membership please click here. https://cheltenhamchamber.org….

In the meantime, here’s to a positive outlook for 2022, and we look forward to seeing you at The Ivy in February.

Kind regards

Michael Ratcliffe
