Recognition for two Willans lawyers in independent guide for high-net-worth individuals

An independent guide which recommends leading lawyers for high-net-worth individuals has given recognition to two partners at Gloucestershire law firm Willans LLP.

Chambers High Net Worth is a yearly, international guide which independently recommends leading professional advisors, including lawyers, accountants and wealth managers, to high-net-worth individuals.

The directory has highlighted two of Willans’ partners, Paul Gordon and Simon Cook as ‘notable practitioners’, for the second year in a row.

The guide quotes market insiders and client interviewees describing Willans as a “very trusted local firm… big enough to have the expertise required, while being small enough to value clients and look after them well.”

Paul Gordon is head of the firms’ litigation & dispute resolution team and is noted for his expertise in inheritance and trust disputes, and contested wills. The guide quotes sources who praise his “great communication skills” and “ability to explain legalities in a way that the client is able to understand.”

Simon Cook leads Willans’ wills, trusts & probate team, which helps clients with issues such as wills and estate planning, Court of Protection applications, inheritance tax and powers of attorney. Clients interviewed in the guide say he is “calm, meticulous and very knowledgeable in his field,” “instantly likeable” and “puts clients at ease.”

Managing partner Bridget Redmond added: “We are really pleased that Paul and Simon have achieved recognition in Chambers High Net Worth for the second year running. Both demonstrate our hallmark blend of approachable, personal service and outstanding technical expertise.

“Putting our clients at ease and explaining complex legal issues in a clear, understandable way is very important to us, and I’m delighted that these very qualities have been highlighted by clients in the guide”.

A full-service law firm with around 80 staff, Willans provides quality legal advice to commercial businesses, individuals, charities and not-for-profit organisations based locally, nationally and internationally.
