Highways England – invitation to consultation briefing for A417 Missing Link

We are pleased to announce that the Secretary of State for Transport has confirmed the A417 Missing Link scheme can proceed to a Development Consent Order (DCO) planning application. Before the application can be considered, Highways England will be consulting on further design aspects of the proposed scheme. The public consultation to discuss the updated designs will start on Friday 27 September 2019 and end on Friday 8 November 2019.

As a key stakeholder, we would like to invite you to a preview consultation event where you can view our proposals and meet the project team to find out more information about the scheme.

Consultation preview event

When: Thursday 26 September

Time: Between 6pm and 8pm (2 hour drop in session)

Where: National Star College, Ullenwood, GL53 9QU

This consultation follows the public consultation on route options that we held during February and March 2018. Options consultation received a high level of support for improving the Missing Link, and 72% of respondents to the consultation agreed with our assessment that the preferred route provides the best opportunity for delivering a solution that meets the objectives for the scheme. Our preferred route (Option 30) was announced in March this year
