GLOUCESTERSHIRE, UK — John Fisher, Managing Director of Gloucestershire-based
Westway IT Ltd, has been recognised with the Future Leader Award at the 2025 UK & Ireland
Spotlight Awards, hosted by the Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA). The honour
celebrates Fisher’s outstanding leadership, innovation and dedication to driving positive change
across the IT channel and his local community.
The awards ceremony, held on June 27 at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, brought together
industry leaders from across the UK and Ireland to recognise individuals and organisations who
exemplify excellence and commitment to advancing the technology sector. Fisher stood out
among his peers for his proactive engagement, thought leadership and passion for supporting
others.
“This award is a great honour to be recognised within a community that’s not only
helping me develop, but also giving me the chance to help others grow through
meaningful discussions, education and mutual support,” said John Fisher. “The
award shines a light on those dedicated to improving our community, and to me
that’s recognition in itself for what I’ve been striving to do: help the community,
support others and continue my own development. It’s a wonderful, supportive

Fisher’s influence extends beyond Westway IT, as he continues to advocate for technology that
enables local organisations to grow securely and sustainably. Under his leadership, Westway IT
has become a trusted partner for businesses across Gloucestershire, delivering tailored IT
solutions that drive resilience and efficiency. Fisher also regularly runs workshops across
Gloucestershire to help local organisations make sense of changing technology, build stronger
systems and position themselves for future success. In addition, he serves as deputy leader of
the Tech Tribe community in Bristol, a dedicated group for IT business owners to share insights,
support one another and strengthen the local industry.
Other notable winners at this year’s GTIA Spotlight Awards included Amanda Stewart of
Illuminate Technology for Advancing Women in Technology Leadership, Hollie Whittles of Purple
Frog Systems for Community Leadership, and Enhanced.io for Advancing Diversity in
Technology Leadership.
