Lines have completed the first phase of work for HBD and Cheltenham Borough Council at Golden Valley, a flagship £1bn GDV innovation and technology centre located in Cheltenham, adjacent to GCHQ, the UK’s intelligence, security and cyber agency.
Utilising ShowReal360, our 3D interactive visualisation software, as part of this collaborative project, we were commissioned to develop a fully interactive and immersive interior digital twin of ‘IDEA’, the innovation centre at the core of Golden Valley and a cornerstone of the wider scheme.

The wider 3D environment outside of IDEA, was jointly developed with another studio and enables stakeholders, investors, and the wider public to explore the proposed master plan in a highly visual and intuitive format.
Key features of this digital twin include:
- A photorealistic 3D environment that represents both current and future phases of the development.
- Free-roam and guided navigation to explore the Innovation Centre’s layout and public spaces.
- Interactive information points highlighting key infrastructure, facilities, and sustainability features.
The solution has been designed to evolve alongside the project as designs are refined and construction progresses. It acts as a single, central digital platform that can be updated in parallel with design and planning changes, allowing for continued stakeholder engagement throughout the development lifecycle.
In time it will become available to a wider audience, but initially the 3D environment was showcased at CyberUK, the UK government’s flagship cyber security event, where it served as a key visual aid in communicating the vision and scale of the project to a national and international audience.
This project demonstrates our ability to deliver high-quality, engaging 3D environments for large-scale and complex developments, and our capability to adapt digital solutions for large scale developments.
