All Change For Cheltenham Zero And Vision 21

The Chamber has supported the Cheltenham Zero pledge since it was first established. From 16th May 2024, responsibility for the project will move from Vision 21, a local climate charity, to the Climate Team at Cheltenham Borough Council.

Vision 21 have delivered this project in partnership with the Council for the past three years. Thanks to them, more than 175 local organisations have signed the pledge to net zero and have been able to access funds and free resources to help them get there.

They will continue to deliver important local sustainability projects. These include Planet Cheltenham, a resource to help everyone do more for the planet, the Reclaim used furniture project, their Regeneration and Repair Cafes and Planted, a community cafe and refill shop in Charlton Kings. They also run the popular People Plant Pint and People Planet Pastry networking events.

Becki Sillence, Project Manager at Vision 21 and Communications manager for Cheltenham Zero, commented:

“We’re really proud of CheltenhamZero members and what we’ve collectively achieved in Cheltenham over the first 3 years of the partnership. We’re grateful for this opportunity to establish and deliver the initiative for CBC and excited to see what direction the project takes next as members take the next step on their Net Zero journey and their needs evolve. Vision 21 are looking forward to still being a part of that journey as an active member and supporter”
