It’s my fifth year of running the awards and I would greatly appreciate your help to spread the word into all communities in all parts of Gloucestershire!
Do you, or those you work or live around, know someone who’s deserving of some recognition? Maybe an unsung hero who deserves applause for their voluntary efforts, or a brilliant group that has built a precious community…or even a wonderful animal which has changed someone’s life for the better? Please help make sure they’re nominated for one of our eight awards.
I’ve attached to this email some images you may wish to use or share.
This year our eight award categories are as follows:
- The Volunteer Award
- The Young Hero Award
- The Great Neighbour Award
- The Active Award
- The Animal Award
- The Environmental Award
- The Fundraiser Award
- The Community Group Award
How you can help
Spreading the news through word of mouth is always the best way. The people you work and live with might well be able to think about individuals/groups in the community who are worthy of some recognition. Please do let them know.
Or how about writing a brief post about the Make a Difference Awards in your weekly newsletter, or blog, or on your website or staff intranet etc?
Or if you have a following on social media, or you’re active in your local community group on Facebook (for example), could you post some text about the event and a link to our all-important webpage = www.bbc.co.uk/makeadifference?
More information can be found online, as well as our full Terms and Privacy Notice = https://www.bbc.co.uk/makeadifference
The nominations window is open until 5pm on Tuesday 31st March.
Most days we hear and see stories of volunteers and others doing brilliant things for each other and their communities and this local awards continues to be a really effective way to recognise many of them in.
You can see all our finalists, from 2022-2025, in a collection of videos on this page: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p086t23y/clips. Who might be honoured and applauded this year?
