“Will we ever return to work?” and an update on the Golden Valley Development

Featuring Chris Hickey, Director with Charlton HR and Tim Atkins, Managing Director of Place & Growth at Cheltenham Borough Council.

For our October Cheltenham Chamber Online Business Forum, we have been able to secure two speakers with some great topics. After a general Chamber update from Chief Executive Michael Ratcliffe MBE we will be joined by Chris Hickey from Charlton HR who will share his views on the question “Will we ever return to work?”

Chris is the current Chair of the Gloucestershire Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personal Development that has over 1,300 members locally. Chris runs his own HR Agency supporting 40 organisations with their HR needs from recruitment through to retirement. Working across this breadth of businesses gives Chris a unique insight into some of the challenges employers are currently facing.

Chris has worked as a consultant with a wide range of organisations including VISA (Europe), Caterpillar, UCAS, the Department for International Development (both here and in Africa), the Prison Service, the Institute of Directors, the CPS and the Institute of Engineering & Technology amongst others.

Chris will then be followed by Tim Atkins, Managing Director of Place & Growth at Cheltenham Borough Council to bring us up-to-date on the Golden Valley Development. The development will be home to Cyber Central UK.

Tim has extensive experience in development, regeneration and leisure industries, previously working across a number of different sectors. Making Cheltenham the cyber capital of the UK; supporting the nation’s mission to become a science super power and be a global leader in cyber is now the main focus of his work. He is leading the Golden Valley Development which is Cheltenham’s corporate priority and also critical to Gloucestershire’s economic recovery strategy.

We hope that you will join us and invite your business friends to add to the discussions of where we can strengthen our business community.
