In 1995 a charity was set up to protect the Cheltenham Lido from imminent closure. In 1996 we signed a 25 year lease agreement with Cheltenham Borough Council and became operationally responsibility for the Lido. Fast forward twenty years and we have invested over four million pounds in our amazing amenity, we attract over 200,000 visitors a year and we are operational all year round with various events and activities.
We are now completely self financing and have signed a second lease term which will run until 2056.
Our core values are to:
1 Keep the lido open for the people of Cheltenham and surrounding areas and for future generations

2 Manage, maintain and enhance the lido as a strong, safe, vibrant community facility for all stakeholders to enjoy, in an environmentally responsible way.

3 Maintain relevant communication with our stakeholders, including season ticket holders, clubs, Cheltenham Borough Council, the local community, employees and volunteers.

4 Establish and maintain the long term financial viability of the facility through investment, enhancing the facility for the community, whilst being sympathetic to the lido’s heritage.

5 Operate the Trust efficiently and effectively and in a way that accords with all legal obligations, planning for contingencies and through the establishment of a financial reserve.
