Cobalt photography competition to raise funds to support teenagers and young adults with cancer by providing a specialist nurse.

Local professional photographer Sally Ryde is part of the judging panel who will oversee the entries. Twelve winners will be published in the Cobalt 2022 calendar and receive amazing prizes including a Canon EOS 2000D with lens, a Light & Land photography workshop, subscriptions to the Royal Photographic Society and to Amateur Photography magazine and a tour of Steve Russell Studios in Stroud.

Donations to enter the competition will be £2 and there are three categories to choose from along with an under 16’s entry. Categories are ‘Caring and Sharing’, ‘Nature in all its forms’ and ‘Happiness is…’

No experience is necessary and the competition will be open to both amateur and professionals to share what they see behind their lens. Closing date for entries is 31st August 2021. A dedicated web page with full details of the competition and how to enter along with terms and conditions can be found here

Kirsty Bradbury, Fundraising Engagement Officer for Cobalt said: “We’re extremely excited about the photography competition. It is open to everyone and you can enter as many images as you like. Smart phone entries are welcome too for a chance to win some of our amazing prizes. The money raised will be used to fund Cobalt’s Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Nurse who supports some of the most vulnerable in our society; 16 – 25 year olds who have been given a life threatening diagnosis. Cobalt needs to raise £28,000 each year to ensure that the vital support they receive will continue.”
