30 years ago this month I was in Berlin covering the fall of the Berlin wall. Then aged 25 years old I got on the first plane I could book and spent the next few days documenting the city both sides of the wall. Photographing the stark contrasts between the East and the West.
I remember how cold and grey the city was as I passed between the old Check point Charlie and the new openings in the wall. days before if you had approached the wall from the East side you stood a good chance of being shot. New graffitti only days old had started to appear on the East side as boarder guards just stood and watched.
I have a gallery of pictures on my website under projects.
Not long after that trip I moved to Gloucestershire where I continue to work in editorial PR and portraiture photography.
