Gloucestershire IT Company Named One of Only 12 UK Businesses on Global Technology List

Westway IT recognised internationally as one of 130 MSPs to Watch for 2026 while continuing to champion Gloucestershire’s business and technology community

Gloucestershire, UK – July 2026 – A Gloucestershire-based IT and cyber security business has been recognised on a prestigious global technology list, becoming one of only 12 UK companies selected.

Westway IT, which supports small businesses across Gloucestershire and surrounding areas, has been named to the 2026 MSPs to Watch list. The global programme recognises 130 managed service providers worldwide that demonstrate strong operational performance, innovation, growth and strategic vision.

The recognition places Westway IT among a select group of technology providers identified as helping shape the future of the managed services industry, while highlighting the growing strength of Gloucestershire’s business and technology sector on the national and international stage.

Founded by Managing Director John Fisher, Westway IT provides managed IT support, cyber security, Microsoft 365, automation and technology consulting to small and growing businesses. The company focuses on helping organisations use technology securely and effectively, without the complexity often associated with IT.

Beyond supporting businesses with technology, Westway IT has become an active contributor to Gloucestershire’s wider business community.

Founder and Managing Director John Fisher hosts the monthly Gloucester Tech Tribe Meet-up, bringing together technology professionals and IT businesses from across the region to share knowledge, experiences and best practice. The company is also actively involved with the Forest Economic Partnership, is a member of the Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce, and is supporting Business Insights Gloucestershire as a sponsor of its inaugural Investing in Gloucestershire event.

John also serves on the GTIA UK & Ireland Executive Council, helping to shape discussion and collaboration across one of the world’s leading technology industry associations while bringing insight and expertise back to support local businesses.

John Fisher, Founder and Managing Director of Westway IT, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to receive this recognition, especially as a small independent business based here in Gloucestershire.”

“While this award recognises Westway IT, it also reflects the strength of the business community around us. Whether that’s through our clients, local networking groups, Gloucestershire’s thriving SME sector, or organisations such as Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce and the Forest Economic Partnership, we’ve been fortunate to be part of a business community that genuinely supports one another.”

“To be recognised globally while remaining firmly rooted in Gloucestershire makes this achievement even more special.”

The MSPs to Watch programme recognises managed service providers that demonstrate operational maturity, recurring revenue performance, efficiency, growth and forward-looking service delivery. Organisations included on the list are assessed using a rigorous methodology designed to identify businesses that are successfully adapting to the changing technology landscape.

For Westway IT, the award comes at a time when technology is becoming increasingly important for businesses of all sizes. Cyber security, cloud services, automation and artificial intelligence are no longer challenges faced only by large organisations, but by SMEs across Gloucestershire and the wider South West.

John added:

“Our clients are mainly small businesses, and they are facing many of the same challenges as much larger organisations: cyber threats, increasing regulatory requirements, changing technology and the opportunities presented by AI.”

“Our role is to make those challenges easier to understand and manage. We are passionate about helping Gloucestershire businesses use technology in a practical, secure and effective way, whether that’s improving cyber security, getting more from Microsoft 365, or understanding where automation and AI can genuinely add value.”

The recognition also highlights Gloucestershire’s growing reputation as a centre for technology, innovation and cyber security. While many organisations recognised on the global list are significantly larger businesses, Westway IT’s inclusion demonstrates how smaller regional firms can successfully compete and gain recognition on an international stage.

John concluded:

“This recognition is not just about Westway IT. It reflects the trust our clients place in us, the support of our partners and suppliers, and the wider business community that has helped us grow.”

“We’re proud to represent Gloucestershire on a global stage. This county is home to an incredible community of businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals who continuously support one another and look for ways to improve.”

“If this recognition helps shine a light not just on Westway IT, but also on the quality of businesses and talent we have here in Gloucestershire, then that’s something we’re particularly pleased about.”
