National Star has joined forces with the National Careers Service to stage a jobs fair with a difference to help bridge the disability employment gap in Gloucestershire.
The number of disabled people in work since the COVID-19 pandemic has dropped according to the latest Government figures. Only 4.8% of adults with a learning disability are in employment (NHS Digital, 2022).
That’s why the National Careers Service and National Star’s Work Outcomes team are encouraging local employers to take part in a Reverse Job Fair on Wednesday 21 June between 10am – 12 noon at National Star, Ullenwood.
The concept behind the Jobs Fair is simple. More than 40 National Star students with visible and invisible disabilities will create displays and presentations that showcase their talents. Employers will be able to move around the tables to introduce themselves.
The students have ambitions to secure roles in catering and hospitality, IT, administration, facilities management, warehousing and more.

There’s free parking on site and social enterprise StarBistro will be providing refreshments on the day.
