Cheltenham International Film Festival Announces 2023
The film festival plans to reach out to new audiences in Cheltenham and beyond
Cheltenham International Film Festival (CIFF) will mark its fifth anniversary in 2023 with a selection of new films, new events, celebrities and more. Having taken place in mid-May for the past four years, the festival will now move to a permanent date in mid-September (details shortly).
CIFF also plans to expand its films and events to venues in other towns around Cheltenham to bring the best of international film to new audiences.
In 2022, the festival had the privilege to welcome Dame Judi Dench in “An Afternoon with Dame Judi” held at the Pump Room in the Pittville Park area of Cheltenham. More events like this are promised.
CIFF Festival Director, Leslie Sheldon, acknowledged that the festival had to work through the difficult years of Covid, like many others in the community, but improvised to help it to maintain a position in the market.
“In the case of the film festival”, said Sheldon, “rather than cancel the festival, we launched YourScreen, a streaming platform to bring the best of international films to our audience, who were not able to access a live cinema.
Going forward, YourScreen will continue to be the festival’s streaming platform throughout the year, allowing us to promote the film festival and to organise as live and online events.
“I wish to thank all who supported us through the past four years”, continued Sheldon, “and I invite everyone to ‘watch this space’ as we continue to roll out our 2023 programme from the new year”.
Note: We offer a YourScreen code GIFT25 to our friends to share with their family and friends to watch films now on our streaming platform YourScreen.
