For the first time, Cheltenham International Film Festival (CIFF) 2021 is organised in two parts. Part I will be streamed online 24 May – 5 June. Part II takes place ‘live’ in October to tie in with Black History Month. In 2020, CIFF was the first international film festival in the UK to go online.
During Part I of CIFF, we will screen some of the best of new films from around the world, plus interviews with directors and cast members. The Festival opens on 24 May with a special preview of the Oscar-nominated film, The Father, starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman. And, among others, we have a special interview with celebrated director, Stephen Frears, to mark the 50th anniversary since his debut feature film, Gumshoe.
We also shall launch the new Cheltenham Youth International Film Festival in May, to coincide with the main Festival. The Youth Film Festival includes master classes, workshops, panel discussions, student fairs and career days.
